To accept whatever comes, regardless of the consequences, is to be unafraid or to be full of that love which comes from a sense of at-oneness with whatever . . . In other words there is no split between spirit and matter. And to realize this, we have only suddenly to awake to the fact. I have noticed it happens and when it does it partakes of the miraculous.

~ John Cage “Juilliard Lecture” in A Year from Monday (1952)

There were signs
but it seems
spring is just not ready for us yet.

“My two favourite things in life are libraries and bicycles. They both move people forward without wasting anything. The perfect day: riding a bike to the library.”

On a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon
in the North End
Boston, Massachusetts

the calm

the calm

the calm that comes

after all the decorations are taken down and put away
and life once again returns to normal
it was a wonderful holiday season
and like every year previous
it just flew by
now it’s time to get back to our regularly scheduled programming

the start of 2015 has brought some exciting news
a new client and a published photo (Frog Pond Skaters) on a brand new website
that was just launched today…

what I thought was probably going to be the size of a postage stamp is so much more and I couldn’t be more pleased. I have to say how extremely nice the marketing people are there, as I’m sure are all their employees.

So if you are heading to Boston, check them out…and please tell them I sent you!

colors of a day

“People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and its ends, but to me it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spat blues. Murky darknesses. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them. ”

~ Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
