Two of our backyard creatures
one in the front yard, the other in the back
both so different
yet both magnificent
both keep a watchful eye on me while I weed the gardens
one is just a bit more intimidating than the other ย ๐
Yes both are to be enjoy and watched…I love the Hummingbird and could watch it all day long…the Hawks draw me in also..but for a different reason..I do like to photograph them also but honestly, I’m so happy when they are not in my yard…
I don’t think they will bother you while you weed…but they could creep you out…
All of your shots are so lovely…Mother Nature at it’s best.
Wonderful shots of that hummingbird feeding, Susan! I know how rapid they are – it must be difficult to capture them as they dash about! The hawk has such piercing eyes – and that beak!
Exquisite pictures, Susan! Both birds are beautiful in their own way, and you have captured their characteristics…”flight of the hummingbird”… and “watches like a hawk” ๐
The hummingbird is so cute but wow..that hawk..! those powerful features :O
Beautiful shots ๐

These are beauties, Susan.
I love your title! Now you need to write the book…. Only joking! Love these images.
Your so lucky to have been able to catch these birds!
My husband would be so jealous that you have hummingbirds so close that you can capture them. What a lovely job you did!!
What a joyful contrast just by going from the backyard to the front.
Incredible photos, as always, Susan!

Ooooooh, I just love that little hummingbird, Susan!
These are all wonderful but the juxtaposition of the two creatures – really thought provoking, breathtaking. This post has made me stop in my tracks.
Very beautiful!
