“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.”

~ Siobhan Vivian

I’m a bit like a mad woman, scrambling to capture every bit of autumn color I can find. Heavy rains are expected later in the week and I expect much of the leaves will be washed to the ground. A beautiful season but far too fleeting…now why can’t winter come and go as fast?

  1. Perfect, Susan! All pieces together on the first shot! Swan Lake! Extraordinary palette of colors, image to be kept on our minds for the entire winter! Thanks so much! Bravo!!! 🙂

  2. Autumn is slow here in the U.K. but all the signs are there….but I have the feeling that this year is not going to give us a bounty of rich colours as the leaves now seem to be dropping. With gales forecast I guess a good many more will go be for they have a chance to colour up. So very nice to enjoy your colour packed Fall images

  3. I love autumn; always have. Our recent rains have really sped up the falling of leaves. It’s fantastic you captured the leaves falling — autumn action!

  4. Such colours and peacefulness and I love how you caught that falling leaf! I had to laugh at your wondering why winter couldn’t be a little more fleeting?! I guess we’d have to change the part of the world we live in if we really wanted that bad enough! I think I enjoy the fleeting beauty of the other seasons, thanks to winter’s insistence!
