In the spirit

…freshly cut Christmas trees smelling of stars and snow and pine resin – inhale deeply and fill your soul with wintry night…”
~ John Geddes

decorations have been brought down from the attic
each day I put up a few
taking my time
enjoying every minute
the tree will go up this weekend
sure would be nice to get a bit of snow!

  1. I’m ready for some snow too, as long as it doesn’t interfere with finals. I want this semester done and my WSU students don’t need any more excuses. πŸ˜‰

  2. What a beautifully composed image with soft bokeh to give the sparkly feel to your slowly awakening Christmas spirit. So lovely to prepare things slowly and enjoy each step. That John Geddes quotation is perfect: “…trees smelling of stars and snow and pine resin…” I hope you get some snow too! Our early snowfalls have melted and it would be nice to get some more!

  3. We have a forecast for snow on Friday. Wish I could send it your way. I would just as soon pass. Just one of many reasons I moved here. πŸ™‚

  4. It’s wonderful that you allow yourself to take your time at this time of year and really get into the pleasure of decorating! Love love love the golden vignette!

  5. Beautiful picture. So glad you are enjoying decorating. I spent all day Sunday decorating and really enjoyed it. I’d love some snow, too! πŸ™‚

  6. What a beautiful composition, Susan!
Sounds like snow for us over the weekend.
Today was tee shirt weather, but so dark and gray. 😦
    Have a fantastic weekend.

  7. love those ornaments — I really love that you take time to put them up a little at a time and to enjoy the process rather than feeling rushed. Cherish the season
