child’s play

“Cooking is at once child’s play and adult joy. And cooking done with care is an act of love.”
~ Craig Claiborne

I was in a baking mood this weekend
so I played in the kitchen all Saturday afternoon
whipping up a variety of scones
cranberry, cranberry-white chocolate, walnut
round ones, triangular ones
it felt good to get my hands in the flour
and after kneading all that dough, every ounce of stress I had in me
magically disappeared
and better than that, they made for a yummy Sunday morning breakfast!

did you have a nice weekend?
I hope so…and I hope that if you live in the Midwest, you are safe after those horrible devastating storms.

  1. Lovely close-up shots of your baking! I love getting my hands in flour too! Nice little cast-iron (I think) Japanese tea-pot and freshly baked pastry!

  2. Those look so good, beautifully photographed! I love scones and often buy the Stonewall kitchen mixes. Your experiments sound delicious!
