“Whilst August yet wears her golden crown,
Ripening fields lush- bright with promise;
Summer waxes long, then wanes, quietly passing
Her fading green glory on to riotous Autumn.”
I’m so impressed by these pictures, they are gorgeous! A butterfly on a flower is a shot that has been chasing me for months but I haven’t found the perfect scene yet. I hope I can cross that point out of my photography bucket list one day!
Do you have a personal photography bucket list Susan? Feel free to check mine. http://feetfromshore.wordpress.com/my-photography-bucket-list/
I love your photography, so I’ll surely be back :):)
Thank you so much! Patience is the key…you will get that shot I’m sure! I hadn’t really given thought to a photo bucket list…but that’s pretty intriguing, so I’m off to check out yours! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I love these – what an effect, all that goldenrod behind the bee, creating a yellow universe. And again, lovely light happening here! That tiny patch of sky behind the wing in the 2nd photo adds such depth, it makes it a very uplifting image somehow.
Oh, so pretty!
Thank you Scott!
Beautiful series.
So kind, thank you very much!
Beautiful, but hard to believe fall is barreling down on us…
Thanks Gunta..I know, the summer flew by! A few weeks left however!

We’ll be moving my son into his new apartment in Boston.
Going to be a looooooong weekend! ๐
Thank you Lisa! Yes, that’s us too…only we will be heading west! Hope it all goes smoothly for you…we will need a vacation after this!
Beautiful pictures. Those bees look hard at work! ๐
Thank you Janel…there were hundreds of those bees…very loud buzzing going on!
You’ve captured the essence of August perfectly. Love the detail of the bee’s wing. Once again, beautiful shots!
Thanks so very much! I’m sneezing a bit after spending so much time around the goldenrod!
Golden indeed Susan! Gorgeous Bokeh!!! Marvelous all around! Have a fabulous weekend! Robyn
Thank you Robyn! Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well!
Again, you match the poem with the photo so perfectly. The gold of August is bittersweet – so precious, yet so fleeting…
Thanks Pam! I’m really getting into poetry lately!
Well you have given us such a show of golden color my friend….breathtaking.
So nice of you, thank you so much! I was sneezing for a few hours after taking those shots!
Stunning, as usual! Thank you.

These are beautiful, Susan. You got the depth of field just right and the focus is great. I enjoyed scrolling through them.

You are so nice, thank you so much. I took these in a field that was full of goldenrod…and hundreds of bees. The buzzing was ridiculously loud!
So golden and beautiful.
