“This is a brief life, but in its brevity it offers us some splendid moments, some meaningful adventures.”

~ Rudyard Kipling

the sunsets over Lake Champlain are magnificent
I think I may have posted some of these photos before but
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful sky
we’ve been back and forth to Vermont a few times this summer
and hope to make another trip this fall
but at this moment, I’m packing up for a road trip to Ohio
to visit my son and celebrate his 26th birthday
26!! how can that be???

I won’t be posting for the rest of the week
but hope to catch up when I return
have a fabulous rest of the week and a wonderful weekend!

can you believe it’s almost August?!

Enjoy!

  1. Susan, the light you have captured in each of these is so beautiful.
My son turned 24 just today, and like you, I am just not sure where the time went.
Have a safe and wonderful trip.

    • Thank you Lisa. A Happy belated Birthday to your boy! Time is just flying isn’t it!? Had a nice visit with my son…nice to see him settled and happy in Ohio.

    • Thanks Pam! Had a great time visiting with Eric. Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather we are having here on the east coast!

      • Well, I DID have a great East Coast weather experience, but now I’m back in the chilly foggy S F bay area. Our summer here begins in September!

      • I happen to love the fog…makes for interesting photos! Actually, our Septembers have been pretty spectacular, except for a hurricane or two!

    • Oh you are so nice! I wish I had trouble deciding but I’m afraid I have trouble finding enough decent ones to post!

  2. I love that fourth image best. I know it’s a summer shot, but it feels as if it could have even been a fall sunset. Either way, I can almost feel the breeze off the water … beautiful work!

  3. These are amazing photos! That light…. And I know you had a great time visiting your son I know the “What – 26 years?” feeling because mine’s near that age too. He actually spent some time at a school in central Mass years ago. It’s beautiful country, and then you have the always interesting Northampton. But of course that’s no reason not to venture further afield to Vermont!

    • Thank you!! Yes, both my sons are in their twenties now…yikes!! I try not to think about it for long…only on their birthdays! My youngest son (going to be 22 soon!) is the one in college out in western MA…he will be a senior this year, so after graduation I’ll have to find another excuse to spend time in Northhampton! And of course I’ll always venture off to Vermont!
