Here’s to the ladies who lunch–
Everybody laugh.
Lounging in their caftans
And planning a brunch
On their own behalf.
Off to the gym,
Then to a fitting,
Claiming they’re fat.
And looking grim,
‘Cause they’ve been sitting
Choosing a hat.
Does anyone still wear a hat?
I’ll drink to that.

    • I hadn’t seen them in a while either but this year they are everywhere! I love how you call them ladybirds!

  1. Ohhh lucky you to catch these :)!! They are so beautiful, I`ve been a huge “fan” of lady bugs ever since I was a child…, thanx for sharing – and with the ever so jolly words to tag along πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    • I was amazed at how many we’re on these coneflower leaves! Aphids must have been “the special of the day”!

  2. Thanks for making me laugh – that’s a perfect poem for those photos. Love those ladybugs!

  3. Beautiful shots that have so much meaning to me… Ever since my Mom died 25 years ago, ladybugs always appear when I most need a reminder of her love. Today you gave me that; my thanks.

    • Oh Theresa, I’m so glad I could do that for you! Ladybugs are pretty special that way I think!

    • Thank you so much! No, I haven’t exhibited my work although I’d love the opportunity to do so at some point! I need to get my courage up!
