those random moments

“There are random moments – tossing a salad, coming up the driveway to the house, ironing the seams flat on a quilt square, standing at the kitchen window and looking out at the delphiniums, hearing a burst of laughter from one of my children’s rooms – when I feel a wavelike rush of joy. This is my true religion: arbitrary moments of nearly painful happiness for a life I feel privileged to lead.”

~ Elizabeth Berg, The Art of Mending

Wishing you all many random moments of happiness this weekend!

  1. Fly, be free!
So I realized that you are from central MA – I grew up in Northboro and love seeing photos from my old stomping ground. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

    1. Oh that’s so funny! Yes, I’ve lived in Northborough for almost 23 years now. Small world! Hope you enjoy this long weekend as well! Nice to “meet” you!

  2. just pure joy in this shot! really beautiful especially in combination with the quote. hope you’re having a great weekend yourself!

  3. I’ve nominated you for a few well-deserved awards. Please see my post “Gratitude – Part II” for details. Keep up the terrific work!

  4. It’s been a rather long time coming to our neck of the woods too – finally, this week, I was out in the garden, except now I’m recovering from pneumonia and can’t tackle as much as I’d like to.

    1. Oh, so sorry to hear that. I know what you’re going through as I had pneumonia years ago and I remember that it was a long recovery for me. The minute I felt better, I’d get up and start doing things only to be back in bed the next day…so lesson learned – get your rest! You’ll be back out in your garden before long!
