“There are things you can’t reach. But
you can reach out to them, and all day long.

The wind, the bird flying away. The idea of god.

And it can keep you busy as anything else, and happier.

I look morning to night. I am never done looking.

Looking I mean not standing around, but standing around
As though with your arms open.”

~ Mary Oliver

    1. Thank you very much! Many options this weekend, just not sure how many we will take part in. Visiting my college son out in Amherst today, it will be nice to see him!

  1. Such an evocative series of photos. The first through fourth together in particular – wonderful. It’s going to be a cold rainy one here, so we’ll make the best of it.

  2. Did you notice how green the grass has become this morning? With just that little amount of rain. The sun will speed the greening even more. Have you ever been to Walden Pond? I haven’t yet but have been yearning to go. I might take a day trip with the boys this week.

We have one robin that keeps flying into our windows over and over again. I’m not sure if it thinks it sees another bird or it wants to fly into the house? It’s driving the cats (and me) crazy.

    1. Yes, finally! Just waiting for the sun now. I’ve been to Walden Pond but not lately. If I remember correctly, it doesn’t take long to walk around it as it’s pretty small. But there is lots to do in that area – Concord is a wonderful place to visit: The Old North Bridge, The Old Manse, The Alcott House (Orchard House) and many other historical sites. It’s beautiful countryside too, plus a quaint little downtown area with shops and restaurants. I think your boys would love it. Also in the area, if you head to the neighboring town of Lincoln, there’s the Decordova Museum and Sculpture Park that’s a lot of fun. There are also many trails from the museum you can explore. Lots of options!
Don’t you just hate to hear those birds hit the windows! I had a female cardinal hit our window a few weeks ago and unfortunately she did not survive. I was heartbroken. ):
