summer eats

good morning!


this summer has brought a change of pace

especially in the kitchen

I love to cook
but during these hot months…
not so much
although I do occasionally bake a dessert or two
and since there are just 2 of us at home now

suppers here lately consist of small plates
and lots of fruit and veggies
my new favorite is grilled bok choy
marinated in herb olive oil
and drizzled with balsamic vinegar

sometimes, like this past rainy weekend

we do an indoor picnic

a crusty ciabatta

cheeses, prosciutto, assorted olives

and wine

come the fall

I know I’ll be itching to cook up some comfort foods

but right now

I’m enjoying this little lifestyle change
